Basketweave

These fences are designed to look like the side of a basket and are considered a full-privacy fence. This modern ranch-style fence displays horizontal boards that run the entire length of a section. The horizontal boards run either over or under the vertical rails, alternating each horizontal row.
Most Common Height = 5' or 6'
 

Picket

These fences are typically three (3) to five (5) feet in height, with spaced narrow boards that do not exceed 3" inches in width. Classic picket fences usually feature French Gothic/Gothic board styles available in scalloped/concave, level, or convex-arch top designs. Post spacing may vary between six (6) and eight (8) feet on center.

Post & Rail - 2 Rail

The most common Post & Rail system is two (2) or three (3) rails. Spacing is generally 11" between the rails but customization may be available depending on the manufacturer. A 2 Rail is usually for decorative purposes or for marking boundaries and directing traffic, they are not suitable for animal containment. The Standard Rail is a 2"x6" and the Standard Height = 36-42"

Post & Rail - 3 Rail

Spacing is generally 11" between the rails but customization may be available depending on the manufacturer/installer. The 3 Rail system is the beginning of animal containment purposes. The Standard Rail is a 2"x6" and the Standard Height = 48-60"
 

Post & Rail - 4 Rail

Spacing is generally 9" between the rails and the open design allows these fences to be used for animal containment without blocking a view. This design is excellent for perimeter fencing, because the rails flow with the terrain. The Standard Rail is a 2"x6"and the Standard Height = 54-66"
 

Tongue & Groove - Lattice

These fences are known as full-privacy fences usually designed with a 6" inch tongue-and-groove slat with approximately 1' foot Lattice section on top. Lattice configurations will vary from Manufacturer to Manufacturer (Vertical slats vs. Diagonal). Panel widths will vary from 6', 7' and 8' On-Center (OC).
Most Common Height = 7'
 

Tongue & Groove - Privacy

These fences are known as full-privacy fences usually designed with a 6" inch tongue-and-groove slat specifically for backyards & close quarter communities (Town Homes, Condominiums, etc.).
Most Common Height = 6'
 

Board Slat - Semi-Privacy

These fences will vary dramatically by manufacturer but here are the common characteristics of this fence type: Fences that are 3'-4' in Height usually deploy Picket-like boards (2"x2"x3'); fences that are 5'-6' in Height usually portray the common Dog Ear or Flat Top (1"x6"x6') board style. This style is used around pools and is designed to allow wind to pass freely through the fence. Most Common Height = 6'
